WASHING MACHINE PROBLEMS

LOUD NOISES

A common type of washer repair is for loud sounds coming out of the machine. Repairmen can troubleshoot the source of the loud noise and decide if we need to repair or replace the broken appliance parts. The source of the noise is often because of a broken motor or worn bearings or belt.

DOES NOT TURN ON

When your washer doesn’t turn on or agitate, check to see if it’s not plugged in or if a circuit breaker is flipped off. The issue could also be because of a broken door latch, timer or thermal fuse. A washing machine that won’t turn on means the agitator cogs, coupler, drive belt or transmission need immediate repair or need replacement.

DOES NOT SPIN

The typical causes for a washer overflowing is either the water level pressure switch, water inlet valve or the air dome tube on the washer.

A malfunctioning temperature control switch or inlet hose is typically the reason why a washing machine will not produce hot or cold water.

DRYER PROBLEMS

LOUD NOISES

The most typical dryer malfunction is loud noises coming out of the appliance. Broken bearings, seals or worn-down belts will often lead to loud noises from dryers.

DOESN’T DRY

A clothes dryer that will not generate enough heat to dry laundry is not very helpful. The cause of the issue is likely a broken high-limit thermostat, heating element or cycling thermostat. These same parts can also cause a dryer to be too hot too. Our repairman will inspect the appliance to determine the issue and solution.

WILL NOT TURN ON OR TUMBLE

If your dryer doesn’t turn on, you first will want to be positive the appliance is not unplugged and that all of the circuit breakers are on. If the appliance is plugged in and still doesn’t start or tumble, the heating element, high limit thermostat or cycling thermostat will need to be repaired or replaced.

WILL NOT SHUT OFF

The opposite problem happens when the dryer will not turn off. The cause of this particular issue is either a broken timer or door switch.

TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE

A dryer timer is required to advance in order to complete the cycle. If the timer will not advance, it might mean there is a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
